Reminissing

So... Kelly and I have been talking a lot lately about what "Sissy" will look like, I was looking through some pictures of Tatum today wondering if she will look like her. Here they are; what do you think?

Our trip to Disney

So, its been a while, but here are a couple of pictures of our sweet Tatum at Disney World this summer!

Bed rest day 2 and 3

Okay, so I missed Wednesday, but as you can imagine it was very uneventful! My day consisted of the couch, the bed, and the couch! I did however manage to finish one project. I have succesfully completed one basket liner for sissy's room. it looks pretty good if I do say so myself. (pictures to come). Today has been much like yesterday! However, I am anxiously awaiting the unvailing of my floors on staurday. My wonderful husband is having all new tile put in for us! More to come tomorow!

what is going on with us?!

Wow, so once again it has been almost a month since my last post! I say it every time, but I have the best of intentions to make this a daily blog, it should be a little easier now that I AM ON BED REST! What a weekend we had! After a wonderful birthday celebration provided by the best husband in the world, I ended up in the hospital about 6 pm Saturday evening having contractions that just would not go away! It was quite a night after 4 rounds of drugs, steroids to mature this sweet girls lungs (just in case) and a huge dose of demoral and phenigran my contractions finally stopped! I was release on bed rest and procardia every four hours around noon on Sunday! Monday morning I went to see my regular doc and he confirmed the orders! He says we will take things two weeks at a time, but the goal is to get this little girl to completed 36 weeks which according to my calculations is HALLOWEEN! So, I am still predicting a Halloween baby, but we will see! Right now every day she stays in here is a victory. I am trying to keep myself busy, and am so thankful to already work from home. We are taking things 1 day at a time. I will keep you posted! As to the rest of the family, Tatum is growing like crazy and cannot wait for her "Sissy" and her birthday to get here. I am not sure which one she is more excited about! Kelly, as usual is amazing, and is doing an incredible job with all the house duties and taking care of Tatum as I remain glued to the couch or bed except for the occasional bathroom break! More to come, hopefully tomorrow!

where have we been?!

Okay, so once again another month has gone by since I last posted! I am just not great at this blogging thing! I was laughing this morning at how much has changed since my last post! So, according to my last post, I was due Nov. 27th, and having a bouncing baby boy! NOT! After two sonograms confirming that it was a boy, we went in for a regularly scheduled sonogram and were told it is not a boy, it is a GIRL! We were shocked, but also very excited about another precious pink sweetie! We have her name picked out, but we are keeping it a secret, we figure if she is going to keep things surprising for us we will help her along a little bit! Her nursery is really coming together, and oh Kelly because i am going all out girly! There is pink and black everywhere! On the other hand I am really hesitant to paint just in case we do end up with a little boy in the end! I have added a picture of the bedding, I would love to have any ideas about decorating and accessories that don't involve paint. Oh and by the way, she will be here Nov. 15th by C-section, due date moved up to Nov. 21st! Although I would not be at all surprised to have a Halloween baby! More to come...can't wait to hear your decorating suggestions!

I'm a horrible blogger!

I am a horrible blogger! It has been over a month since my last post! I keep telling myself that I am going to update once a week but it just is not happening! Hopefully I will get better soon. So much has happened since my last post! First, we found out that we are having a BOY! We are so excited. Kelly "Clyde" Brewer is due to arrive the 27th of November, but we are thinking he will probably be here some time around the 12th! they tell me that he is a going to be a big baby, which should not be a surprise since Kelly was almost 9lbs and 23 1/2 inches long! They say as long as I make it to 37 weeks, they will not stop things and I will be doing good. Tatum is soooo cute with him already, she is constantly kissing my belly and she tells everyone that we meet that she is going to have a baby brother! I think she thinks he is going to be her birthday present because we keep telling her he will be here very soon after her birthday. Other than baby stuff, we took a wonderful trip to Disney World in June, which I promise to post pictures from soon. Also we are in the process of re-doing Tatum's room, and getting Clyde's nursery together. I promise to post pictures of all the many things we have going on soon! Hopefully my next post will make it up here before another month goes by!

I am finally not sick anymore! i do not know why anyone would call it morning sickness either, its more like all day sickness! I am very thankful to be in my second trimester and feeling great. Everyone I see says they think it is a boy, and the count down has begun to find out. June 21st is the big day, and we cannot wait! Oh and one of these days I really will post some pictures of the peanut and Tatum soon!

Life with the Brewers

Wow,
So it has been a while since I have updated. We have soooo much going on right now! To our surprise on March 14th we found out that we are expecting! What excitement and joy this has added to our lives. After having blood work done several times we were told that not only were we pregnant (after being told that we were not able to conceive on our own) but that the numbers looked so good that I would not need anything to supplement the pregnancy. Friday April the 2nd we went for our first sonogram, which would have been our six week visit. Unfortunately the doctor said that there may be something wrong with the pregnancy. They saw a small gestational sac, but no fetus. This led the doctor to believe that I am either not as far along as he originally thought, or there may be a problem. As I am sure you can imagine we are devastated right now, and trying to remain faithful in not worrying. To be honest, my first reaction was not a good one. I was angry and did not understand what God was trying to do. I could not understand how we could finally be pregnant, and in such an amazing way only for there to be a problem. I am still struggling with this, but I am doing my best to trust in God's plan. We go back Friday for another sonogram. In the meantime I am so thankful for my sweet friends and family who are a constant support. I was reminded by one of them this morning not to miss out on what God is doing NOW as I wait for our appointment on Friday. She also reminded me of

Mathew 6 25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]? 28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

We are doing our best not to worry. In the meantime, I am definitely still pregnant, and we are praying that God will get all the glory in this pregnancy and the birth of this baby at the end of this year!
In the meantime this has been my song of choice!

We did it!

What a gorgeous Tuesday it is! And what a great day to be able to say we have finally completed our home study application! Yeah! Two weeks to day from when we received it. Pretty good I would say since we have been told alott of people end up taking up to six months to get them back in! We are very ready to move on to the next step, and now I really have to get serious about our portfolio. Oh and by the way, we have the nursery completed and ready for the pictures for the book! Very gender neutral, but cute. I am sure we will end up re-doing it when we find out what sweet baby is coming to us. Hopefully tonight I will begin to paste pages for your thoughts. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support. I will keep you posted on more!

A letter written to our friends and family

To our wonderful friends and family,
We want to update you on some amazing things that the Lord has been doing in our lives over the past several months. As many of you know we have been trying to add to our family for a little over a year now, and although we have seen a specialist and have tried different fertility treatments have not been able to conceive. It has been a long and sometimes heartbreaking road as we have suffered several losses. God has taught us so many things over the past year and it is our greatest desire that he be glorified. We are committed to praise him in the valleys just as we do on the mountain tops! We are writing you this letter to ask you to join us in support and prayer as we begin our journey of adoption! That is right, we are ADOPTING! Even before we were married we felt like adoption would be a part of our lives. We have both been very involved with orphan ministries since we were teenagers. After the birth of our daughter we wanted to continue to grow our family. We feel at this time God is telling us to adopt. We are so excited about the possibility to provide a home for a child that needs one. Not only do we want to provide a loving Christian home for a child, but we also want to welcome the birth mother into our family and be able to share the love of Christ with her. God has led us to a wonderful local adoption agency and we are doing our best to complete the home study as quickly as we can. We would love and appreciate it if you would join with us in prayer. Here are a couple of things that you can pray for:
· the health and wellbeing of our future child
· the physical, and spiritual health of our birth mother and father
· that the birth parents would have all the support and love they need to make this difficult decision
· the funds necessary to afford the adoption
· that God would be glorified in every step of the process.

We thank you for your prayers and support and look forward to sharing more wonderful news with you soon!

our newest family picture!

ADOPTION!

hi all,
time for the weekly update. We have been soooooo busy this week! We have selected an adoption agency and we are sooooo excited to move forward with God's plan for our sweet adopted baby! We are praying for his/or her mommy and the decision that she will have to make. We do not know what the exact cost will be but it looks like it will be close to 25k for the finalized adoption so we are also praying hard that God will provide the funds to make it possible. however, we are moving forward in faith that he will! What an awesome God we serve that he showed us a direct path to our sweet adoption agency that we would have otherwise not known about, as they do not advertise. they are a really small local agency and they firmly believe in God leading people to them! Wow what a testimony they have already been! We have begun the process to adopt and should be starting our home study very soon. I am also creating a profile of our family that will be given to our bmom as she decides what family she will select for her family. I hope to be posting some of it here soon and would love your thoughts on it! I will keep you posted on any further progress. In the meantime please pray for our future bmom, and that God would provide the needed funds.

God's grace continues to amaze me!

Hi all,
i guess i need to back up to Thursday before valentines day to really update you this week. Thursday was pretty rough for me just not feeling well and being anxious. Thursday afternoon something just hit me as I was sitting there praying and I was overcome with emotion. As i sat there crying I was overcome with such a peace and a feeling that our IUI had not worked. I know it sounds really strange to put those two things together but that is what I felt. When Kelly came home I told him that I really did not think I was pregnant and that finally after 15 months of trying to conceive that I had been able to let go of my desire to have another child and give it over to the Lord. As soon as I did I knew that we were supposed to adopt! Kelly was understandably skeptical of how sure I was that i was not pregnant and wanted me to remain positive, however i continued to tell him that I felt God was preparing me. Fast forward to Sunday...we got confirmation that I am definitely not pregnant and although I am sad I cannot express my excitement about adoption and the peace I feel that God is already preparing the child and birth mother for us! We are so ready for this journey, we have a lot of unanswered questions, but we know that God will provide. If any body has adoption stories that they would be willing to share with us, or helpful advice we would love to hear it! we will keep you posted on our journey!

This weeks update!

So, it has been 1 week today since our IUI, and of course I am desperately trying to ignore every phantom pregnancy symptom that I think I am having. (The story of my life lately) I am trying really hard to patient, but I could sure use some prayer! We still have another full week before we can find out if it worked! I am excited, anxious and terrified all at the same time! So, we will wait (and attempt patience) try to ignore symptoms, and hope for two pink lines next week! I will keep you posted!

Update:
Hi all, I wanted to give you an update on the baby making progress! LOL, I promise I wont get to detailed. So, Saturday the 30th we went back to the Dr. for yet another ultrasound to see how the eggs were doing. We were told that we had 1 that was ready, another that was very close, 3 that were not far behind, and another 4 that needed another couple of days. Because of the number of eggs that we have that are so close to ready they decided to bring me back in on Sunday to take another look.

Sunday when we went back in the egg in my right ovary was completely ready! The one in the left was about a day away and the others were close behind. Dr. P said we were finally ready for the insemination, and I really thought I was going to fall of the table because it was finally here. Sunday night I took the ovidrel, which makes the mature eggs release (at that point they were thinking one, maybe three). When we left the Dr. Sunday I was pretty disappointed because of the possibility that there was only one egg that would release. However, my wonderful husband and friends reminded me that God is always in control! We went into the IUI yesterday (Tuesday the 2nd) very excited and praying that God would be glorified through us and this process.

Now that the IUI is done I have a couple more shots to take and then we wait! Oh the wonderful two week wait! all of your prayers and support are so appreciated and we look forward to what God will do through this.

where have we been?!

Well... so I started this blog with the best intentions to post at least once a week, but as you can see I have not posted since the 28th of august and I have so much to add. So, I think the best thing to do is to try and summarize each month really quickly to catch you up.

September: September was pretty uneventful in the Brewer house. We just attended to the daily grind, and started Tatum at her new school Grayson Christian Academy which she loooooves! Also, I turned 25!

October: Oh October...the beginning of the holiday season! Tatum decided she would be a lady bug this year which was fun. This was another pretty uneventful month for the Brewer's

November: November was a pretty big month in the Brewer house. Our sweet Tatum turned 3! It is hard to believe how fast she has grown. She had a birthday party with all her little friends at Jump in Land! After Tatum's birthday Kelly took me to ITALY! this was the trip of a lifetime. We spent 11 days celebrating our 5th anniversary in Italy and along the coast of Greece! Wow what a trip. It was truly amazing.

December: December brought Christmas and a trip to NC to visit Kelly's side of the family. It was wonderful to see them all and get to spend some time with them.

Okay, so... I know that was a really vague update but I think that brings me up to date on the big things.

Now to January: As many of you know Kelly and I have been trying for some time now to have another baby. It has been a long and heart breaking road with several losses, but we are constantly reminded that God is in control. In December we decided that we would try something else. With the suggestion of our doctor we decided to do IUI. (I will try and not freak any one out with the level of information I give) Since the beginning of the month Kelly has been giving me shots in order to help us get pregnant! we are now in our 4th week of shots and they tell me that I have 23 eggs! You read right, 23! they are hoping to get 3-4 of these to mature so that we have a better chance at getting pregnant. So, hopefully this weekend we will be having the IUI and then begins the horrible two week wait! It has been quite a journey, I will keep you all posted as to the progress.
